Young Voice——Chen Ruolin

Chen Ruolin, born in Nantong, Jiangsu in 1992, is a Chinese women’s diving athlete, Olympic champion. At the age of 4, she started learning diving at the Children’s Amateur Sports School in Nantong. In 2000, she became one of the regular players of the Children’s Sports School of Jiangsu Province. In 2003, aged 11, she swept up three gold medals at the National Children’s Diving Competition. Early in 2006, the national diving team showed to public the participant list of the Diving Grand Prix, and such a 14-year-old girl had her name on it.

Chen Ruolin won many gold medals in multiple diving competitions. She won the gold medals in the Women’s 10m Platform and 10m Synchronized Platform at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing for Team China.In 2010, she was elected by the International Swimming Federation(FINA) as the best women’s diving athlete of the year. In 2011 World Aquatics Championships held in Shanghai, Chen won two gold medals for Women’s 10m Platform and Women’s 10m Synchronized Platform and became the first Chinese female diver who claimed all the gold medals in women’s platform events in Olympic Games,World Cup and World Championships. In 2012, she duplicated the double gold performance at the London Olympic Games, and became the 200th gold medal winner of Team China in the history of Olympics. In the same year, she won the championship of Women’s 10m Synchronized Platform at the FINA Diving World Cup Series in Moscow. In the next year, she defended her championship of Women’s 10m Synchronized Platform at the FINA World Aquatics Championships, and made a record of four titles in row. In 2015, Chen won the gold medals of Women’s 10m Synchronized Platform at the World Aquatics Championships in Kazan and the FINA Diving World Series in Beijing.

One of the greatest strengths of Chen Ruolin is stability in the competitions. She has good mentality and strong willpower.Young as she is, Chen has become the winner of the most Olympic gold medals in the history of Chinese national diving team due to her stable performance.
